Think Odd are resigned to losing him, he's out of contract in 6 months and think clubs can offer him a pre contract now. Someone said earlier their transfer window opens in August, maybe they want to hold on to him until then so they can sign a replacement? Share this post Link to post

Donstar83 78 Posted Sunday at 05:55 PM Sounds like he's thought he'll just wait till August and see if someone else comes in for him. 1 Share this post Link to post

That's when the Norwegian window opens, I think. He can sign for anyone on a pre contract now I think but has to wait until January to move, hence why we are bidding £300k plus that again in add ons apparently. If anyone's waiting till August, its Odd so they can replace him straight away. Share this post Link to post

Is ours £10m annually at present? The huns annual wage bill £20m and the tims are £18.5m surprisingly. Dont know if that included staff either. Edit - The source of claims our wage bill is a bit under £6m annually. Aberdeen 2022 Wages | Player & Team totals (salarysport.com) Edited Sunday at 06:08 PM by Zorba Share this post Link to post
Tord31 779 Posted Sunday at 06:05 PM So we've literally signed no one on a planned Bosman transfer this summer. What the hell happened to 'close to 2-3 pre contracts'? Not even one got over the line. Share this post Link to post
slippers 287 Posted Sunday at 06:05 PM I was confident reading between the lines he had signed. Now I think the lad having doubts above is correct. Would be really interesting to know what players we have spoke to/ shown round complex for them to reject us. Bet their is a good few decent players we have missed out on. That's full staff wage bill plus burdens (NI and pension) Share this post Link to post

Well my theory was it was only down to the visa, but absolutely fat chance he'd have got the 90 mins if he was already our player Share this post Link to post

Aye I think we need to put this Norwegian lad to bed and move onto the next target. CR9 is back in town so guess he’ll be starting against Peterhead. Share this post Link to post

DC has big questions to answer I’d hazard a guess that we pushed the boat out more than ever last season. Could be 1 or 2m added on with the wages we were paying players like Brown, Ramirez and Longstaff. Share this post Link to post

Don’t think our top earners is anywhere near accurate. No chance Brown or Ramirez is only on circa 5k a week even basic with add ons. Share this post Link to post
AyrshireSheep 212 Posted Sunday at 06:36 PM Shota Arveladze's nephew Vato is apparently due to sign for a club in Scotland. Plays as a no10 or second striker according to TransferMarkt. Wonder who the club is? Share this post Link to post

Jamie Vardy was playing non-league football when Leicester signed him so writing a player off purely because he's League 2 is silly. There are players in those lower leagues who will do a perfectly decent job for Aberdeen. Share this post Link to post

There are players in those lower leagues who will do a perfectly decent job for Aberdeen. Slightly weird comparison. LCFC signed Vardy when they were in the Championship after he scored 34 goals to get Fleetwood promoted to League 2 costing a million quid. Chump change for them, which £400k isn't to us and he had been outstanding for a full season. I've never said he couldn't do a job or writing him off IF we sign him. I'm just saying from what I had seen of him in a few games he didn't stand out as a player I would have given a second thought to. I hope every player who signs turns out to be a great signing but it's not "silly" to have doubts. Share this post Link to post

Think we all knew he was going through a purple patch and wasn't going to be our number 9 for years. 18 months of goals including a lot of pens helped us a lot, but no one was sad to see him go especially for £2m. Imagine he will struggle when he inevitably comes back on loan to the likes of St J, Motherwell etc. Share this post Link to post
